I am currently a Senior Scientist in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, ETH Zürich, Switzerland; I was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge (funded by the Swiss National Research Foundation).

Have established a unique research domain at the interface of fluid engineering and multiscale heat transfer for sustainable systems and climate. Developed combined experimental, numerical, analytical and data-driven approaches in research and made significant contribution to research projects funded by Australian Research Council, Swiss National Science Foundation, and Singapore’s National Research Foundation.

Published 40+ peer-reviewed journal articles (including first-authored papers in J Fluid Mech., Phys. Fluids, Appl. Energy, Sci. Total Environ., Urban Climate, etc.) and an invited keynote paper in the 16th International Heat Transfer Conference (quadrennial).

Served as a guest editor for the journal Building and Environment; editorial board member for the journal City and Built Environment; frequently providing review for top tier journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Urban Climate, npj Urban Sustainability, etc.
Education
Yongling received research training at the University of Sydney for his PhD in fluid mechanics, after receiving his MPhil and Bachelor degrees in renewable energy and built environment. Yongling also holds a certificate in teaching (University of Oxford) and received certificates in Applied Data Science (offered by EPFL).
